Unfortunately, the hip hop world is dealing with Chinx and the news of his death. At a time when many are constantly looking towards the future and the “next big thing,” Chinx had something special going. Given the impact his death has had, it’s clear he was right on the verge.
The death of Chinx coincided with Jay Z doing his “B-Sides Concert” on his streaming service, TIDAL. What happened to Chinx is something not overlooked by Jay Z. During day two of his concert, Jay Z decided to address what happened.
Jay Z took a minute from his performance to pay tribute to Chinx, speaking on how our culture is under attack and we keep killing each other. Urging people to take responsibility, Jay Z said he wants everyone to realize they are kings and queens and to not make it harder on each other. He went on to discuss the catch 22 successful people from the hood face when they “leave and never come back,” pointing out what they did to Chinx.
