Jay-Z receives backlash over his deal with the NFL
Currently, Jay-Z is catching a lot of flack over his NFL deal. To make matters worse, he was portrayed as a backstabber, in the media, when it was revealed Jermaine Dupri had a similar deal. However, he was advised by Jay-Z to not take it. In addition, there is the relationship Jay-Z shares with Colin Kaepernick. A lot of fans feel as if Jay isn’t being loyal to Kaepernick.
As Jay-Z was facing backlash, Jermaine Dupri spoke out and cleared up the rumors. He said he spoke to Jay about the deal, but he chose to turn the deal down. It turns out, this information was available, already, but it was overlooked. In other words, Jay didn’t tell JD to turn the offer down. Instead, he turned the offer down for his own reasons.
Jermaine Dupri held a conference, where he explained turning down the Super Bowl halftime show, which followed Jay doing so the previous year. His reasoning, like Jay, was not being paid, which Jay mentioned on “APESH!T.” Now, with this Roc Nation deal, Jay-Z is getting paid off every NFL performance.
