Counting both physical and digital sales, Jay-Z is set to ship close to 1.5 million copies in his first week. Damn, that’s a huge accomplishment, so props are in order to Jay-Z, once again. Haters will continue to hate, but that’s only because Jay-Z sets the standard and the other rappers follow the rules, which are new.
Magna Carta Holy Grail is the new album out and it has been well-received by those who had a chance to hear the project. Following the pattern of his last album, Jay-Z featured a few guests on the new album. Rick Ross and Justin Timberlake are among the guest appearances on Magna Carta Holy Grail.
Initially, the RIAA was not going to acknowledge Jay-Z’s 1 million copies sold through his deal with Samsung. However, Jay-Z protested and the #newrules prevailed in the end and now he is platinum within a day. For his efforts, the RIAA met with Jay-Z to present to him his platinum plaque.
