Jay-Z scores thirteenth consecutive platinum album with “Magna Carta Holy Grail”
Nobody can do what Jay-Z does when it comes to making music and doing business. He set the standard in music alone for what a hip hop artist should be. From his 1996 debut to his 2003 “retirement,” Jay-Z released an album every year and each one was both considered a classic and went platinum.
By the time Jay-Z got to The Blueprint 3, his label situation had changed, as he became the first rapper to drop a record label. With Magna Carta Holy Grail out, it looks like he is back with Def Jam and his Roc-A-Fella Records. In the case of his new album, Jay-Z reached a deal with Samsung and the first 1 million copies were sold.
But, when it comes to all sales from fans, Jay-Z recently received some good news. As of last week, September 29, Jay-Z was officially platinum with a little over 1 million albums sold. With the album pushed, originally, Jay-Z has reached another new height with thirteen consecutive platinum albums.
