Not only is Jay-Z one of hip hop’s leading success stories, he is dedicated to creating more success stories. All along, Jay-Z’s agenda was to build his business. In order to do that, Jay-Z had to first establish himself as an artist, which he not only did, but became a legend.
Jay-Z was establishing himself at a time when New York rappers were not in demand, outside of Bad Boy. He had to fend against West Coast rappers, such as Snoop Dogg. When his career grew, he had to stand out among Eminem, Nas, and many others.
Coming up, on April 6, Jay-Z will be a guest on David Letterman’s show on Netflix, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.” In the promo clip, they are talking about “The Good Rappers.” Here, Jay-Z credits Snoop and Eminem for being good, Snoop for his vocals, and Eminem for his flow.
