Jay-Z tells cameraman to stop taking pics of him
Jay-Z has come a long way in twenty-seven years, becoming hip hop’s first billionaire. It’s not just his wealth, which makes it all so impressive. Also, it is the presentation of it all. In 2008, Jay-Z took a huge gamble, leaving Roc-A-Fella Records to create Roc Nation. This company is more than a record label, as it does management, and sports agency. A few years ago, Jay-Z launched the Roc Nation Brunch as the prequel to the Grammys.
Jay-Z built an impressive roster of talent on Roc Nation. In addition to bringing over people like Kanye West and Rihanna, Roc Nation signed J. Cole. The company has also managed and represented such names as Meek Mill and Kevin Durant. During this span of time, Kanye West and Rihanna also both became billionaires. Both were wealthier than Jay, himself, until Kanye’s infamous “Drink Champs” interview. However, Rihanna remains wealthier.
Jay-Z, in more ways than one, has become one of music’s biggest power players. His influence is evidenced, simply by the Roc Nation Brunch. Not only do the biggest figures in the industry attend, it’s an event people dream of being invited to. The brunch is a win for the entire industry. A photographer had the chance of a lifetime being there, so he was snapping photos of Jay-Z. However, when Jay spotted him, he gestured to the person to ask them to stop.
