On January 11, Jeannie Mai announced that she had given birth to her and Jeezy’s first child together. This came after she revealed the winter wonderland baby shower that was thrown, back in late December.
Fans have since been wondering what the gender and name of the child is. Mai recently posted a new video to YouTube, where she revealed that the name of the baby is Monaco Mai Jenkins. The inspiration from the name comes from the area in France, where people frequency vacation at.
“I thought Baby J’s name should be a J name because obviously Jeannie and Jeezy, makes sense, but that wasn’t the name that came to us, “What really came to us was how Baby J came to fruition for us when we were dating. That’s really the theme of the nursery: what Monaco is about. Family, moments, traveling, discussions, important key points in my life and Jeezy’s life that brought Monaco here.”
Adrienne Bailon also spoke on The Real, about Mai and Jeezy’s time in Monaco, and how that played a role in their child’s name.
“Three years ago, Jeezy and Jeannie were talking on a bridge in France, talking about what it meant to do life together. Here they decided to grow and raise a family together. Hence, they named their child after the city that changed their lives forever: Monaco Mai Jenkins.”
Last March, Jeezy and Jeannie also got married, in Atlanta. That came after over three years of dating. The ceremony was attended by various close friends and family members. Back in December 2019, Jeexy and Jeannie were involved in pregnancy rumors as well, but that wasn’t true.
