Atlanta’s hip hop scene is bubbling over to the forefront, but this run isn’t the first time Atlanta had major success. In the early 1990s, Atlanta made their mark on the game and Jermaine Dupri provided the sound. His expansion led to him working with the likes of Mariah Carey and Jay-Z.

In the mid-2000s, Jermaine Dupri hit a creative high and helped Mariah Carey and produced hits for many other artists. Before helping Mariah Carey come back, JD helped make Bow Wow into a mainstream star. Recent years, however, have seen him fall from the spotlight.
