No, this is not some kind of a joke, it’s really happening. For whatever reason, these fried chicken joints keep getting some of the biggest names in black entertainment. A few years ago, Mary J. Blige received backlash for her KFC song.
Understand, fried chicken is a favored meal, but it’s a meal that’s good to everybody. However, it has been stereotyped with particular groups of people. Sadly, it has shown up in the worst possible way, earlier this afternoon.
Jerry Rice, the NFL legend that saw his career rejuvenate on “Dancing with the Stars,” did a commercial for Popeye’s. In the promo photo circulating online, he is wearing a fried chicken mask. Yes, it was all for promo, but this photo and the others, opens the door for the Jerry Rice jokes and he deserves it.
