Jhené Aiko’s 2020 ‘Chilombo’ Album Hits Platinum Status

Last March, Jhené Aiko released her third studio album, ‘Chilombo.’ The title is based on her last name and was one of the most anticipated projects of the year.

Chilombo was led by singles such as “None Of Your Concern” featuring Big Sean and “Happiness Over Everything (H.O.E.)” feat. Future and Miguel. “BS” feat. H.E.R. was also another huge record. The album went on to debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Chilombo continues to be a fan-favorite as now, this project has been certified platinum by the RIAA in the US, according to Chart Data. This is after selling 1 million units. The deluxe edition went on to be released last summer. Nine new tracks were included with features from Kehlani, Mila J, Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg, and Wiz Khalifa.

In March, Chilombo also has a chance to win big at the GRAMMYs. It’s nominated in the categories of Best Album and Best Urban Contemporary Album. “Lightning & Thunder” feat. John Legend is also nominated for Best R&B Performance.

There was also supposed to be a tour for the album starting in May but the COVID-19 ruined that, as it did with other concerts in the world. It’s unclear if the tour will be held at some point in 2021, though. Hopefully, fans will be able to return to these venues to see Aiko live soon.
