Jhené Aiko’s “Chilombo” Wins R&B Album of The Year Award at 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards

The 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards went down at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles as music’s best were honored. The Weeknd won big and performances were also included by Usher, Doja Cat, and more.

One of the underrated categories was R&B Album of the Year. The winner here was Jhené Aiko for her third studio album, “Chilombo.” This project was named after her first name and released in early March 2020. Chilombo won big as it ended up debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 chart.

Chilombo was also led by hit singles such as “Happiness Over Everything (H.O.E.)” feat. Future and Miguel and “Triggered (Freestyle).” Additional appearances included H.E.R., Big Sean, John Legend, Nas, Ty Dolla $ign, Ab-Soul, and Dr. Chill. The “B.S” single feat. H.E.R. ended up being a very popular record and single following Chilombo’s release as well.

In July, Aiko went on to release the deluxe edition for Chilombo. This included nine additional tracks with appearances from Snoop Dogg, Mila J Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, and Kehlani, who appeared on the B.S remix. Currently, Chilombo as a whole is certified platinum in the US as well.
