The coronavirus pandemic has affected the daily routines of our lives tremendously as businesses have temporarily closed, people have lost their jobs, and entertainment and sporting events have either been postponed, canceled, or suspended. Many artists were supposed to go on tour around this time and one of them is Jhené Aiko.
Aiko’s “The Magic Hour Tour” has now been postponed due to the pandemic. Aiko just took to Twitter to make the disappointing announcement. The tour was originally set to kick off on May 1 in Boston, MA. The tour was also supposed to last through a lot of the summer as it would’ve concluded on June 27 at the St. Kitts Music Festival. 31 cities in total would’ve been visited as Los Angeles also had three shows. Queen Naija and Ann Marie were also listed as guest performers. For the customers who purchased tickets, they will still be honored at the new dates. She will be notified by health officials on when these venues can reopen.
Aiko released her third studio album ‘Chilombo‘ early last month as it was led by singles such as “P*$$y Fairy (OTW)“, “None Of Your Concern,” featuring Big Sean,” and “Happiness Over Everything” feat. Future and Miguel. A breakout record that came from this project was “B.S” feat. H.E.R. The album ended up being the top album on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart and No.2 on the Billboard 200. This also marked the biggest debut from a female R&B artist on the chart since Beyoncé’s 2016 ‘Lemonade‘ album.
