Jimmy Butler relieved after Jamal Murray misses game-tying shot
Jimmy Butler is the franchise player the Miami Heat didn’t know they needed. Butler joined the Heat the season after Dwyane Wade retired. The Heat entered into a new era and there was a lot of uncertainty, aside from Erik Spoelstra and their defense. With Jimmy coming in, he took the Heat from barely making the playoffs to within two wins of the championship. After three long years, Jimmy and the Heat are back in the Finals. Game 2 vs. Denver saw Miami win on the road. Jamal Murray’s late game miss gave Jimmy a face of relief.
Jimmy Butler joined the Miami Heat, after talking to Dwyane Wade. In 2016, Wade left the Heat and played a season for the Chicago Bulls. That year, Jimmy and D-Wade formed a duo that saw Chicago lose to the Celtics in six games in the first round. After that, Butler was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Meanwhile, Wade signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers. On the other hand, Jimmy wound up traded to the Philadelphia 76ers during his contract year. After that, Wade convinced him to sign with Miami.
Jimmy Butler has the Heat in the NBA Finals for the second time since he joined the team. The Heat fell into the play-in, losing to Atlanta, beating Chicago after falling behind, to make the playoffs. From there, they upset Milwaukee, New York, and Boston. A battle-tested team, Miami did the impossible and took Game 2 in Denver, when the Nuggets hadn’t lost a home game since March. However, when Jamal Murray took that three, everybody thought it was going on. When it didn’t, Jimmy’s face was relieved.
