This past season, the Chicago Bulls finally got their squad back together, but they had a new coach. At times, the Bulls showed promise and it looked like Derrick Rose would return to form. He and Jimmy Butler had the Bulls in third place, but they missed the playoffs, ultimately.
Eight years prior, Derrick Rose gave the Chicago Bulls something they hadn’t had since Michael Jordan, a face. Not only was Derrick Rose good, he made the Bulls relevant again. With Joakim Noah, they had a strong 1-2 punch, but Rose became injury prone.
While Derrick Rose has gone from being an MVP to being on the bench, the leader has become Jimmy Butler. Last season proved this and, when they missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008, a change had to be made. This afternoon, Derrick Rose was traded to the Knicks and Jimmy Butler shared a special Instagram message to let the world know how he feels.
