Yesterday, George Floyd’s family accepted Floyd Mayweather’s offer to pay for Floyd’s services. They will take place in different cities. The Houston service will draw a large gathering as Joe Biden will be attending as well, according to Attorney Benjamin Crump to political commentator Van Jones during an interview on Facebook.The Fort Bend Memorial Planning Center also confirmed to USA Today about Biden’s appearance.
The public viewing for Floyd will take place at Fountain of Praise church on June 8 from noon to 6PM CT. The funeral and burial will be on June 9. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, attendees must wear masks and gloves. Social distancing will also be enforced. Less than 600 of the total 2,300 seats will he used as well.
Another memorial service will be in Minneapolis from 1-3pm at North Central University. Rev. Al Sharpton will deliver a eulogy and Ben Crump will issue a statement as well. The other service will take place at Cape Fear Conference B Headquarters as well, as Floyd was born in this state.
Salute to Joe Biden for deciding to make this appearance at Floyd’s Houston funeral next week, which is Floyd’s hometown. Donald Trump, on the other hand, is too busy hiding in his White House bunker while protestors in Washington, D.C., demand justice. Derek Chauvin and the other officers involved in his murder must be prosecuted to the fullest extend of the law. There’s no reason why Chauvin should’ve had his knee on Floyd’s neck for eight minutes snd 46 seconds.
