When Joe Budden released his first Mood Muzik mixtape, he had no idea how popular it would become. Signed to Def Jam, Budden had been trying to release his sophomore album and decided to release Mood Muzik: The Worst of Joe Budden as a holdover. As his album was delayed several more times, Budden began releasing more installments of the mixtape, eventually releasing some as independent albums.

Even when Joe Budden’s popularity began to decline, he was able to gain a large fan base through his Mood Muzik series. Eventually, Joe Budden would release his sophomore album and forge partnerships with several rappers. Joe Budden ended up uniting with Royce da 5’9, Joell Ortiz, and Crooked I to become Slaughterhouse. Eminem expressed interest in the group and he signed them to Shady Records.

Currently, Slaughterhouse is preparing to release Welcome to Our House, their Shady Records debut and their second overall album. While the group is preparing their new music, the members are still pushing their solo careers. Joe Budden is planning to perform every song from each Mood Muzik mixtape at Irving Plaza in New York City. The performances will begin on February 26, Joe Budden will perform the first two installments of Mood Muzik. On Feburary 27, Budden will perform the third and fourth installments of the series.
