The past year saw Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks form an unlikely duo that worked. These two united for “Everyday Struggle,” Complex’s flagship show. Abruptly, Joe Budden walked away from the show, and now has a deal with Revolt.
Joe Budden walked away from “Everyday Struggle,” following a dispute over his contract. Entering the second season, Budden wanted a pay increase that the company didn’t want to provide. Then, days later, former co-host, DJ Akademiks, claims he is going to jail.
Yesterday, #FreeAkademiks took over Twitter, and Joe Budden addressed this on IG Live. Laughing about it, Joe Budden said Ak, as he commonly refers to him, is “fine.” He added “Y’all are dumb,” to the people who believed Akademiks would really be facing up to ten years in prison.
