Aside from the Gilbert Arenas years, the Washington Wizards and their fans have not had much to be excited about. The Wizards were last a good team in 1988, however they made the postseason in 1997. In 2005, they returned with Arenas leading, until 2008.

John Wall was drafted by the Wizards in 2010, leading them to the playoffs in 2014. A down 2016 stopped the Wizards from going to four straight playoffs. But, this past postseason saw the Wizards one win from the Conference Finals.

After signing his designated player contract with the Wizards, John Wall did a press conference. Sitting down with the DC media, John Wall is the king of the city, right now. He fielded questions about his future and the growth of the Washington Wizards, as they are anticipating a 50-win season and a Conference Finals appearance.
