John Wall last played for the LA Clippers and remains a free agent. He didn’t quite live up to Meek Mill’s hype, but he was once an All-Star. Seeing where he came from, Wall just making it to the league was impressive. North Carolina is basketball country, producing the likes of Michael Jordan, Stephen Curry, and Jerry Stackhouse. Wall is included in that list of players. A Raleigh native, Wall was back in town, handing out free meals at Cook Out.
John Wall was the first overall pick of the 2010 NBA Draft. Wall was drafted by the Washington Wizards and was supposed to move the team on from the Gilbert Arenas era. However, it took Wall four years just to secure the Wizards’ first playoff berth in his era. While he and Bradley Beal made a solid duo, their 22-8 start to the 2015 season was the best it got. In addition, them taking the Isaiah Thomas-led Celtics to a Game 7 was their longest playoff run.
John Wall is considered by most to essentially be retired from the NBA. During the midseason, the Clippers traded Wall back to the Houston Rockets. As soon as the trade went through, the Rockets waived Wall. After that, no other teams picked him up. As a result, he remains a free agent, but training camp starts in a few weeks. Taking all of that off his mind, Wall returned home to Raleigh, where he was handing out free meals at Cook Out, this afternoon.
