Currently, JR Smith is fresh off a big win that saved his season. When this week began, the Cleveland Cavaliers looked like they were going home without a championship, again. Upping their win total from 53 to 57 wins, losing the Finals in five wasn’t an option.
In 2015, the Cavaliers lost in six games to the Warriors and they had an inconsistent season. Pundits have referred to this season’s Cavaliers squad as LeBron James’ best supporting cast yet. But, whatever the case, both teams were down 3-1 to the Golden State Warriors.
JR Smith had a big game to preserve the season, but he is getting right to business when the season ends. Before the season is even over, Smith has decided to decline his player option. This makes him a free agent when the season ends and allows him to speak to other teams.
