Juelz Santana prepares “Born to Lose, Built to Win” album

Much like many albums that were first announced in 2006, Juelz Santana is still waiting to release his third studio album, Born to Lose, Built to Win. This album will be the first release by Juelz Santana through his new Skull Gang imprint. This new album, initially announced on December 31, 2006, will finally be released. It will come five years after the release of his second album, What The Game’s Been Missing!

Initially titled Born to Lose, Built to Win (The Reagan Era), there have been many false starts to this album. In 2007, the first single, “The Second Coming,” was released. But, this was the same year that the Dipset fallout occurred. Because of that, Juelz Santana was unable to complete his album. By 2008, the crew had separated and Jim Jones advised him to build his own crew. So, the year of 2008 was spent by Santana building his Skull Gang imprint.

Coming late in 2009 where the official singles off of his album, now titled Born to Lose, Built to Win. Released early in December was the first single, “Mixin’ Up the Medicine.” Only days after the release of that single, Juelz Santana released the follow-up single, “Back to the Crib.” This song is notable as the first song that he recorded with Chris Brown since “Run It!” Ever since the scandal between Brown and Rihanna made national news, a lot of people have kept their distance from Brown.

Only interested in making music, Juelz Santana did not hesitate to work with Chris Brown again. For this new album, there are many more collaborations in store. Other guests that have been confirmed for the album include Lil Wayne and members of his Skull Gang crew. Production will be coming from Ron Browz, Kane Beatz, Polow da Don, Torrico, and Oddz N Endz. There is not a current set release date for this album.

Born to Lose, Built to Win will be released in the summer of 2010 on Skull Gang and Def Jam.
