Juelz Santana was released from prison earlier this week after 19 months. This was regarding a case where he had a firearm in his luggage in New York. He was finally reunited with his wife, Kimbella, and his children as soon as he left the prison. Santana was originally sentenced to 27 months.
It turns out that Santana had some huge help from Meek Mill, who is a huge advocate of prison reform. According to TMZ, Meek reached out to Kimbella as they got a lawyer to help Santana get home smoothly. The Dipset rapper was also able to avoid needing to go to a halfway house.
Santana also revealed that since he’s finally free, he wants to help inmates by teaming up with non-profit organzations to overturn sentences for those wrongfully convicted. He added that he wants to help inmates “find a platform for the music and movie scripts they write in lockup.”
Santana added that he wrote a script for a TV series he has planned and also has new music on the way. His first studio session will be August 10. He will also be contributing to prison reform efforts with Kimbella.
