Jussie Smollett has been a big trending topic, over the last four years. He had a massive viral moment in 2019, as he initially claimed he was a victim of a hate crime in Chicago. At the time, he claimed two men put a noose on his neck, in a racist attack. However, he went on to claim that the entire situation was false, and staged, as he hired the Osundairo brothers to help assist him.
As a result of Smollett’s staged hate from, he was convicted of five counts of felony disorderly conduct in December 2021. This resulted in the “Empire” actor being sentenced to 30 months of felony probation, as well as 150 days in jail. In addition to these, Smollett had to pay a $120,106 in restitution to the city of Chicago, as well as a $25,000 fine. Smollett has since been appealing the conviction.
Meanwhile, Smollett is entering a new chapter in his life. According to TMZ, he has entered a rehab facility, as it is an outpatient program. A source close to him stated that he’s been dealing with an “extremely difficult past few years.” They also added that he has quietly been working very hard for some time now and they’re proud of him for taking these necessary steps.
