A decade ago, hip hop and pop had as much of they wanted to of Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake. Both have become very elusive and when they return, their respective genres stop and stare. This is probably the reason Justin Timberlake sought Jay-Z out for his first single in six years, “Suit & Tie.” Met with a warm response, Justin Timberlake is moving forward with his third studio album.

With the exception of a few guest verses and his “Glory” single released in celebration of the birth of his first daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, Jay-Z has been absent since 2009. Jay-Z made a triumphant return, however, on Justin Timberlake’s “Suit & Tie.” Fans of Jay-Z knew what time it was when Justin Timberlake exclaimed “get up out your seat, Hov.”

Justin Timberlake recently talked to Los Angeles’ AMP Radio and, of course, “Suit & Tie,” ended up being discussed. The new single features hip hop’s former president and Justin Timberlake explained the song. Due to his executive status, many felt the “get up out your seat, Hov” meant get up away from your desk. But, Justin Timberlake explained Jay-Z was sitting in the studio before he started his verse.
