Juvenile upset his Tiny Desk performance was overlooked

When it comes to memorable songs and performances Juvenile is a name that instantly takes you to another place. As the reigning champ of twerk songs, the 90’s hit maker gave one of the best performances of 2023. Originally, Juvenile didn’t know anything about NPR music’s  “Tiny Desk” series, but fans urged him to take a shot at the stage. Although his performance broke records, Juvenile expresses it didn’t get the proper respect it deserved.

During the 90’s Juvenile bursted on the music scene, changing the sound of Southern rap forever. Signing to Birdman’s label Cash Money Records, he released the multi-platinum studio album 400 Degreez. That album featured hits like “Ha” and “Back That A** Up” featuring Lil Wayne and Mannie Fresh. Other notable hits include “Slow Motion,” featuring Soulja Slim. His 2006 seventh studio album Reality Check also debuted at number one on the Billboard charts.

Despite no current top hits, the legacy of Juvenile’s music speaks volumes in today’s world. His “ Tiny Desk”performance was highly requested and loved, reaching 4 million views in just two weeks. His set included all of his classics with Mannie Fresh right beside him. Although there is no official “Tiny Desk” 2023 list, Juvenile’s performance is one worthy of any live rap list.
