Kai Cenat taken into police custody during large NYC giveaway

Kai Cenat is one of the biggest personalties on social media in 2023, especially on the streaming platform Twitch. There, he’s amassed over 6 million followers. On Instagram, Kai has reached a total of over 5 million.

However, Kai got into some legal issues whole holding a giveaway to the public in New York city, on Friday afternoon. Giveaways for PlayStations, gift cards and more were planned, which ended up drawing thousands of people coming in.

Streamer Fanum was also with Kai, as both were taken into police custody by NYPD. This was at the Union Square Park area of Manhattan. According to TMZ, the event was scheduled to kick off at 4PM, but the overcrowding began at 3:30pm.

Meanwhile, it’s unclear what police went on to take Kai and Fanum into custody for, but it definitely seems that hosting the large event appeared to be part of the issue. Potential charges being filed against the streamers are also unknown at the moment.
