Kanye West surprised the world, when news broke of how wealthy he was. While Forbes disagreed with how wealthy Kanye was, he was still listed as hip hop’s wealthiest figure. The wealth Kanye West amassed came courtesy of his clothing company, Yeezy. After his rant on Sway, Ye secured a deal with Adidas, which made billions. However, Kanye West’s “Drink Champs” interview led to the termination of that deal. Since, Adidas was on pace to lose $1.3 billion. As a result, they reached an agreement with West to continue the Yeezy brand.

Kanye West had issues with Adidas, in addition to GAP, another former Yeezy partner. As a result, he had hopes of terminating the partnership. When Kanye went on “Drink Champs” and said what he said, Adidas, Balenciaga, and Gap ended their partnerships with Yeezy. In turn, Ye and his team tried to crash the Skechers’ office to get a new partnership. While all of this was happening, the media reported that Kanye West’s net worth plummeted to $500 million.

Kanye West returned to the headlines, yesterday. There were reports that Adidas was interested in bringing Yeezy back into the fold. After all, without Yeezy, Adidas was projected to lose $1.3 billion this year. As a result, Adidas has made a new, short-term, arrangement with Kanye West and Yeezy. The two companies will resume their partnership in order to sell the remaining pairs of Yeezy shoes. After that, the partnership will officially end.
