Kanye West faces lawsuit over “Bound 2” sample from Ricky Spicer

Kanye West 28When it came to Yeezus, Kanye West went the unorthodox route when it came to promoting his new album. Instead of delivering the singles and then the album, he dropped the singles and then Yeezus came. Seven months after Yeezus dropped, the single, “Bound 2,” has had a strong reaction.

The music video caused plenty of media attention and some entertaining spoofs from Hollywood’s best and brightest. James Franco hilariously parodied the “Bound 2” music video. In the original visual, Kanye West has the ultimate co-star in his dream girl, Kim Kardashian.

Kanye West has found success in “Bound 2” and now he finds himself facing a lawsuit from a former member of The Ponderosa Twins Plus One, Ricky Spicer. He claims his vocals were used on the song without his permission. The song sampled is owned by Chuck Brown and he said he was honored that Kanye West used it, but Spicer is suing Kanye West, Universal Music Group, and Rhino Entertainment.
