One thing Kanye West has grown familiar with is controversy. Since he started his rap career, ten years ago, West has become one of the most-outspoken rappers in the game. Kanye West has had notable run-ins with Suge Knight, 50 Cent, and Taylor Swift, over the past few years. Finally free of controversy, Kanye West will soon find himself in another fight.

The G.O.O.D. Music CEO is facing a $500 million lawsuit over his “Girls, Girls, Girls (remix),” taken from his 2006 mixtape, Freshmen Adjustment 2. Robert Poindexter says the song contains an illegal sample of the song, “Trying Girls Out,” by R&B group, The Persuaders. In the lawsuit, it states West knows the sample was illegal, because he used a cleared version on “Girls, Girls, Girls,” by Jay-Z.

Robert Poindexter stated he offered to settle things out of court with Kanye West. However, after reaching out to Kanye West with no response, Poindexter filed a lawsuit against Kanye West in the United States District Court of Southern New York, on March 27.
