Headed into Yeezus, Kanye West had a lot of buildup and within a month the album was out. In the meantime, Kanye West dominated headlines with Yeezus from mid-May up until Jay-Z announced Magna Carta Holy Grail. Kanye West came up significantly short with expectations, but still did well.
Recognizing the changes in the game, Jay-Z ensured he would continue his strong sales, as he created a deal with Samsung that gave him immediate platinum status. But, with the new Jay-Z album out, everybody is talking about it. Kanye West, however, is not and he has ignored tweets about Magna Carta Holy Grail.
Instead, Kanye West made tweets about several movies that were coming out. One fan on Twitter detailed what Kanye West was doing, calling it “high-end subtweeting.” Still, no direct response from Kanye West about his feelings toward Jay-Z and his new platinum album, Magna Carta Holy Grail.
