Kanye West talks fatherhood, Kim Kardashian, ego, and more with the New York Times

Getting an interview with Kanye West is a difficult feat. Most hip hop media outlets have given up on getting that Kanye West interview. TMZ blew any chance they had of getting a real conversation with Kanye West, after he walked into a road sign in an effort to dodge them.

But, The New York Times was feeling lucky and they managed to pull off getting an interview with Kanye West. It could not have happened at a better time for either side, as right now Kanye West is preparing for the Yeezus album release. A month after he releases his album, Kanye West’s girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, will give birth to his child.

Entering fatherhood, Kanye West spoke to The New York Times about all that is going on in his life. In the interview, Kanye West compared his music to him playing basketball as a child and his Grammy numbers, compared to those of white people. Wanting his place in history, Kanye West even addressed the Taylor Swift situation.

While Kanye West has apologized to Taylor Swift for his actions at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, he said he was in complete awesomeness at the moment and has no regrets. Addressing the apology, Kanye West blamed peer pressure for him giving in and issuing that apology. In the interview, Kanye West spoke on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, 808s & Heartbreak, Graduation, and singing.

Kanye West talked about his production background with Jay-Z, his relationship with Kim Kardashian, and his family life after the death of his mother. During the interview, Kanye West also spoke on his child and working with Rick Rubin on Yeezus.
