Kawhi Leonard could possibly leave the LA Clippers, during free agency
When Kawhi Leonard and Paul George joined the Los Angeles Clippers, two years ago, they were expected to win championships. Pundits considered them the biggest threat to LeBron James’ LA Lakers. Instead, Kawhi and PG continued the Clippers second round curse.
In 2020, the bubble Clippers went up 3-1, on the Denver Nuggets, only to lose the series in Game 7. After the season ended, Paul George said the goal wasn’t to win a title. This past season, the Clippers slipped to the fourth seed, but overcame 0-2 deficit to beat the Jazz, in the second round.
While Kawhi Leonard’s Clippers beat the NBA’s top team, they lost to the Phoenix Suns, in the Conference Finals. Had Leonard played, the Clippers would have likely played the Milwaukee Bucks, in the NBA Finals. That didn’t happen and there are reports that Leonard could leave the team, in free agency, with the Mavericks and Heat among the teams interested in signing him.
