The past few years saw a swing in hip hop that placed a focus back on New York and the city, specifically. There are a lot of debates about New York hip hop, but history shows what happened, French Montana helped bring the focus back. In 2011 and most of 2012, French Montana was the primary newer New York artist.
French Montana helped shift focus back to New York hip hop and he held the city down when he signed to Bad Boy Records. Most assumed he would’ve joined his friends in Miami at Maybach Music. Many still feel G.O.O.D. Music was the best place for him to sign.
But, French Montana has spent a great deal of time in Los Angeles, which is the home of the Kardashians. French Montana recently hosted an event at The Emerson Theatre in Los Angeles, where Wiz Khalifa and J. Cole also attended. Khloe Kardashian and her friend, Malika, were also there and they all took a photo together, which French put on his Instagram.
