The couple, who dated for over two years, split in 2023 due to instances of abuse. They share a one-year-old son named Leodis Jackson. Palmer discussed her thoughts on relationships and marriage during a candid episode of her podcast, Baby, This is Keke Palmer.
The Akeelah and the Bee star revealed that her perspective on marriage has shifted as she has grown older and gained more relationship experience. “As we get older, as women, is a relationship for me? Do I care about getting married?” Palmer pondered. She reflected on her younger self’s expectations, noting, “At 18, I was like, ‘I’m going to be married at 25.’ And then it was like, ‘You know, I only had one boyfriend my whole life.’ Then it’s like, ‘He’s crazy as hell.'”
Palmer highlighted how her relationship history has shaped her current views. “Now I’ve got five boyfriends, and now I’m already 27. I didn’t even realize that I need to pick one. It was always this different thing,” she shared.
Despite the hardships she has faced, Palmer concluded that she has no regrets about her past relationships. She believes that these experiences have played a crucial role in molding her into the person she is today.
