Nas has been known to put his emotions into his record. During the period when his mother died, a decade ago, Nas delivered some of his best music. A decade later, Nas is arguably a bigger star, yet a twenty-year veteran. This time around, Nas is a middle-aged father who is watching his daughter grow up, as he recently went through a divorce.
Through it all, Nas is happy with the position he holds in life. Initially due last year, Nas’ tenth studio album is called Life is Good. Nas’ popularity has risen, partially due to the number of collaborations he has done. Usually, Nas has kept to himself, but has worked with Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, and Tyga, only naming a few.
Aside from his single, “Daughters,” most of the discussion about Nas has been on the cover of his new album. The dress in the picture is the actual dress Kelis wore during their wedding. When Nas was asked about it, he said it hurt him when he discovered it in his home after Kelis left. After putting it on his album cover, Nas said he was sure he would soon hear about it.
Kelis has broken her silence on the album cover, but she does not appear to be upset. Instead, Kelis said she respects how Nas wears his feelings.
