Hip hop, so far, has been highly impressed with Kendrick Lamar. Following the rules of the game, as the game is currently played, Kendrick Lamar paid his dues on the mixtape level and is now a star. Working with Dr. Dre would secure his entire label a deal with Interscope Records. Armed with major label backing, K. Dot is ready to do damage to the rap game.

Kendrick Lamar now has less than a week before good kid, m.A.A.d. city drops. His release is big for the West Coast, as Xzibit recently released his album, and Game and E-40 and Too $hort have their respective albums in the works. However, Kendrick Lamar, the youngster out of the bunch, has the most hype surrounding his new album.

In his native Los Angeles, Kendrick Lamar spoke to the L.A. Leakers about his upcoming album. During the interview, Kendrick Lamar broke down the m.A.A.d. acronym in the good kid, m.A.A.d. city album title. The acronym was revealed to stand for “my Angry Adolecent divide and my Angles on Angels.” Kendrick Lamar would also speak on his collaborations with T.I. and J. Cole.
