Yesterday, Kendrick Lamar won big at the Billboard Awards. This has capped off an amazing run that saw Kendrick Lamar unexpectedly reach a new peak in his career. Following his strong 2012 debut, it looked like Kendrick topped out, in terms of commercial success.
Kendrick Lamar has since owned the 2017-2018 period, alongside his longtime rival, Drake, and an unexpected Cardi B. Together, they control a solid 60% of what’s on the radio. Add in Nicki Minaj and DJ Khaled and most of the game is locked.
This weekend saw Kendrick Lamar in Khaled’s native Florida, but he was in Tampa for the Hangout Fest. While performing, Kendrick invited a white girl to perform onstage. She rapped along and let the “N-word” slip, driving Twitter crazy in the meantime.
