Kendrick Lamar may release new single before Super Bowl
Kendrick Lamar is getting ready to perform at the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show, in his hometown of Los Angeles. This will be on February 13, at SoFi Stadium. Other legendary headliners include Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige.
Fans have also been waiting for a new single from Kendrick, as fans haven’t received one since 2017. This could change though, leading up to the Super Bowl.
According to sources close to Billboard, Kendrick could release a new single, on February 4 or February 11. In addition to a possible Kendrick single and album releasing, SZA’s album is also finally expected to be out sometime this year. She also hasn’t released an album since early 2017.
“Both Kendrick Lamar and SZA have not released albums since 2017’s DAMN and Ctrl, respectively, though sources tell Billboard a Lamar single may arrive on Feb 4. or Feb. 11 before he plays the Super Bowl halftime show, while SZA’s sophomore effort is expected in the second quarter of the year.”
In 2021, Kendrick also made headlines, my announcing that his next album, will be his final project, on Top Dawg Entertainment. He’s been with the LA-based record label for over 15 years. Both parties respected Kendrick’s decision, while celebrating the massive success that they’ve achieved over the years.
