A major plus in this streaming era is that artists can be creative again, without worrying about release dates. On last night’s edition of The Defiant Ones, Dr. Dre said he hated release dates for that reason. But, that is now in the past.
Kendrick Lamar only revealed Damn., his new album, a week before its release. With no heads up, Kendrick Lamar has owned the summer with his single, “Humble,” his first chart-topper. Then, he had “DNA” also blowing up on the radio.
Reaching a new commercial peak, Kendrick Lamar hit platinum, immediately, with the album. Now, he is traveling into new territory with his album. This afternoon, the album was confirmed double platinum.
