Hip hop, like any other interest, is always full of transitions and changes. Few would argue that the year of 2011 was dominated by Rick Ross, Drake, and Lil Wayne, as they owned the year. But, on the underground, Kendrick Lamar was having a breakout year and turning heads.
Few would argue that the year of 2012 was dominated by Kendrick Lamar and even the first half of 2013. Even while being the hottest emcee in the game, Kendrick Lamar decided to take some time off after his debut album. Some have questioned why and others agreed with his decision.
Kendrick Lamar recently returned and he is preparing his sophomore album. He has a single out that he insists isn’t the lead single for his next album. Justin Credible and J Cruz of Power 106 interviewed Kendrick Lamar and he talked about the possibility of him working with the aforementioned Lil Wayne on Tha Carter V.
