Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” goes platinum
This month, Kendrick Lamar has been dominating with his various Drake diss tracks. The most notable so far has been “Not Like Us.” That debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart over the past week, and also became Kendrick’s first number one solo single.
Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar has also just reached another major milestone with Not Like Us. According to Chart Data, it has reached platinum eligibility in the US. This comes after selling over 1 million units. Moreover, it also becomes the fastest song in 2024 to reach platinum eligibility.
Kendrick Lamar vs Drake has been the biggest trending topic in hip-hop of 2024 so far, as the first week of May featured eight diss tracks in total, between the two. Things really kicked off in late March, when Kendrick dissed both J. Cole and Drake during his verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping “Like That.”
Kendrick’s disses towards Drake have featured him accusing Drake and his OVO crew of pedophilia, as well as Drake allegedly hiding an 11-year-old daughter. However, he’s since denied all allegations. Nonetheless, many fans believe that Kendrick won the beef.
