56-year-old Kerry Latham ended up being arrested after him and Nipsey Hussle got shot in front of Hussle’s The Marathon Clothing store. Latham was shot in the back and is now in a wheelchair and also in prison. Latham had just got out of prison after 20 years and police say he violated parole by being around a “known gang member” in Hussle. Hussle, at the time of the shooting that took his life at the hands of Eric Holder, was trying to hook Latham up with some free clothes from his Marathon store.

Per Rolling Out, Latham recently spoke out about his arrest with Hussle’s former manager, Big U. They’re trying to give Latham life for gang affiliation, which is completely ridiculous. In this injustice, law enforcement is looking at Hussle as simply a gang member and not someone who did so much for his community.

“They’re trying to send me back for life due to gang association,” said Latham. “I was with an activist, a peacemaker in the community who was trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together. It’s an injustice.”

Latham also revealed that he checked out of the hospital to get better treatment at his halfway house. He added that a piece of his spine was chipped off due to a bullet. He then got arrested when he arrived at the halfway house.

“I decided to get care at the halfway house. I went back, and three parole officers told me I was under arrest. They said the orders came from someone higher up. I’m facing life in prison for being a victim.”

Latham says that gangs are his only family now and the way he’s being treated is an injustice, which he’s 100% correct about.

“Gangs are the only family I have left,” Latham said. “My mother died while I was in prison, and I had a stroke so I had to use a walker. This bullet put me in a wheelchair … I’ve done everything they’ve asked me to do, and they’re still doing me wrong. It’s an injustice.”

Recently, California attorney Lauren Noriega stepped up by saying she will give Latham representation. Salute to her on trying to end this injustice here and prevent law enforcement from doing Latham dirty in this situation. Hopefully he gets out of jail soon.
