Kevin Durant clowned for poor play as Suns are losing Game 6
Kevin Durant is a great player, but is considered a playoff choker. When he won with the Warriors, this perception changed. After all, KD went from being a great ringless player to being a two time Finals MVP. The titles with Golden State solidified Kevin Durant’s legacy. After that, he joined the Brooklyn Nets, who formed a super team boasting Kyrie Irving and James Harden. That experiment ended, when KD was traded to the Phoenix Suns, joining Devin Booker and Chris Paul. Tonight, they are taking a blowout loss in a closeout game.
Kevin Durant joined the Phoenix Suns and was supposed to be their missing piece. Instead, the Suns never really got it on track. As a result, they finished 45-37, far below last season’s 64-18. Last year, all was well with the Suns, until they fell apart in the second round. The Suns blew a 2-0 and 3-2 lead, against the Dallas Mavericks. In Game 7, the Suns were down by 30. Despite their record, the Suns were favored vs. the Nuggets, this year. But halftime of Game 6 looks identical to last season, down 30.
Kevin Durant joining the Suns was supposed to turn them into title contenders. Despite those expectations, the Suns are down 30 at home, facing elimination. The Denver Nuggets appear to be on their way back to the Western Conference Finals. Not only are the Suns getting blown out, but also KD only has 8 points on 2 for 11 shooting. As a result, the fans on Twitter are making fun of Durant, blaming him for the loss, and saying he won’t get a third free ring with Phoenix.
