It’s hard out here for a rapper, especially right before they take the stage to perform. Last week, it was DMX and this week it is Kidd Kidd, the rapper no one expected to make the XXL freshman list. First off, Kidd Kidd’s been around since 2008 and, secondly, no one expected him to make it.
Kidd Kidd signed with G-Unit in 2011 and he has kept himself consistent with new music since 2013. He received a major boost in 2014, when G-Unit reunited and he was added to the group. All of this gave him good momentum going into the freshman countdown.
Last night, all of the freshman performed at the XXL concert. It was a big night for Kidd Kidd, where he fully expected to be all over the headlines the next morning. Unfortunately, this was the case for Kidd Kidd, but not due to music, instead due to him being arrested before taking the stage, after his ex-girlfriend that he hasn’t seen in months accuses him of domestic abuse.
