Before the ongoing king of New York saga, there was friction between Gillie Da Kid and Meek Mill over the king of Philly. Most people who follow Gillie Da Kid know about his popular mixtape series, King of Philly.
Gillie Da Kid spoke to Hip Hop Vibe about the situation with Meek Mill in July and denied having any beef. Their issues have since been handled and Gillie Da Kid is sitting comfortably on his throne. His “King Me” single recently got a music video and he’s actively promoting it.
Much like in nations with royalty, in hip hop, it’s simply a title now, but one has to live up to the name. Gillie Da Kid holds his city down like a king and he lives like a king. He posted this evening to Instagram some of his jewelry and it looks like it costs just as much as some people’s entire lifestyle and this is how the king of Philly rocks.
