One year ago, today, Kobe Bryant, his daughter, Gianna, and seven other people tragically died in a horrific helicopter crash. Many people thought that would be the story of the year. But, 2020 was wild, so much happened.

Kobe Bryant played, in the NBA, for the Los Angeles Lakers, from 1996-2016. During this time, he became the Lakers’ all-time leading scorer. He would become one of the NBA’s greatest players, scoring 60 points in his final game.

Today marks a year, since Kobe Bryant, his daughter, Gianna aka Gigi, and the seven other people died. The night before the one-year anniversary, California’s senator and congressman introduced the Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant Helicopter Safety Act. If passed, this bill is to enact safety protocols on helicopters containing six, or more, passengers.
