Kobe Bryant memorial will be held on February 24 at STAPLES Center

The year of 2020 got off to a terrible start, when Kobe Bryant and his daughter got killed in a helicopter crash. Kobe and Gianna Bryant were two of nine people who lost their lives. Several families were forever changed in this tragic accident.

Kobe Bryant played for twenty years, in the NBA, where he donned two uniforms, numbers 8 and 24. Both were for the Los Angeles Lakers, a team he won five championships with. The most-recent, 2010, was also the Lakers’ most-recent championship.

Yesterday, Kobe Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, shared on her Instagram, where Gianna’s jersey was retired by her school. The younger Bryant wore jersey number two, whereas Kobe retired wearing 24. Their memorial will be held on February 24, taking place at STAPLES Center, the arena Kobe built.
