Two rappers who have helped shape this current generation of rap, leading the new era. These two are Kodak Black and NBA Youngboy, both of which started going viral in 2015. In 2017, Kodak Black posted his first radio hit, and Youngboy followed in 2019.

Both have had legal issues, which have slowed them down, along with several women. There is even one woman, Dej Rosegold, that they share in common. Despite that, Kodak considers NBA Youngboy his “lil bro,” so he tried to put him up on game.

From behind bars, Kodak Black offered “advice” to NBA Youngboy about “fully cooperating” with law enforcement over Yaya Mayweather stabbing his girlfriend. Basically, Kodak called Youngboy a snitch, saying he should have said he didn’t know. Acknowledging his own legal issues, Kodak said he needs to talk to him when he gets out.
