The American Music Awards took place last night, as it was filled with plenty of electric performances. Fan debates online also included who should’ve rightfully won certain awards.

Kodak Black appeared to be the favorite to win in the category of Favorite Hip-Hop Song. Earlier this month, his “Super Gremlin” single was leading in this category, but eventually lost to Future’s “Wait For U” with Drake and Tems. On November 8, Wait For U was third in voting.

Kodak took to Instagram to express how surprised he was, that he didn’t pull off the victory. He cited how Super Gremlin was leading in this category, for two months.

“My Sh*t Been In The Lead For Bout 2 Months , All A Sudden They Give My Sh*t Away TODAY ! SMH I JUST KNEW I WON.”

Kodak initially released Super Gremlin in late 2021, on the Sniper Gang mixtape “Nightmare Babies.” The single soon appeared on Kodak’s “Back For Everything” album, this past spring. Kodak has been very consistent in 2022, as he put out his “Kutthroat Bill: Vol. 1” album, in October.
