Kodak Black’s New Year’s Day trespassing charges get dropped

On New Year’s Day, Kodak Black was arrested, in his hometown of Pompano Bech, FL. This was on misdemeanor trespassing charges, as he was celebrating the start of 2022 with close friends. He was also said to have been giving back to the community, by paying off credit card debts for five families.

Kodak’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, initially said that this shouldn’t have happened. This arrest was a result of a cease-or-desist letter, from four months ago. This all went down in his old Golden Acres projects.

According to Rolling Stone though, Kodak’s charges have been dropped. Cohen also claimed that police did what they did, so they could find charges other than trespassing.

“I think they made the arrest so they could search him and search his vehicle that was legally parked and try to find something that was a bigger charge than trespassing,” Cohen said to Rolling Stone. “I think it was embarrassing that they ended up arresting him for trespass, and the case was never filed on because there was no probable cause to make the arrest.”

The popular Florida attorney also took to his Instagram feed, to celebrate the latest legal victory, for Kodak.

“Case dismissed yesterday, the State agreed that this arrest and charge were not warranted Quick legal discussion….a cease and desist letter is not a trespass notice. A cease and desist to a corporation is not notice to an individual. An invitee to a home, by the legal renter/occupant cannot be trespassed by a landlord.”

Kodak is also winning big right now, with his “Super Gremlin” single. This was initially released on his Sniper Gang record label’s “Syko Bob and Snapkatt: Nightmare Babies” album. It recently peaked at number six, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
